George Clooney is famous for being a playboy. But that doesn't stop his ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis from taking the blame for the end of their two-year relationship.

Canalis, 32, who's currently gearing up to be a cast member on the 13th season of "Dancing with the Stars," opened up to Italian magazine Chi about her feelings on the split.

"I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure," Canalis, 32, said according to Usmagazine.com. "There is nothing ever pretty [in] saying goodbye."

Even before "goodbye," things were tough for the couple. Throughout her relationship with Clooney, 50, Canalis was dogged by rumors of an impending breakup.

BYE BYE, LOVE: CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE SPLIT UP

After E! Online reported in May that the couple was all but kaput, Clooney, who's now dating former "DWTS" contestant Stacey Kiebler, shot back, "We are together and doing fine, as far as I can see."

So what might have screwed things up?

While Canalis has been open about her desire to get married -- earlier this year she told Chi, "In the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am" -- Clooney, once divorced, isn't quite so keen on tying the knot again.

"I was married," Clooney said on "Piers Morgan Tonight" in January. "So I gave it a shot. I've proven how good I was at it."

Since the pair split, Canalis has relocated to Los Angeles.

"I went to the United States, because at the moment, I could no longer face the world," she said. "Watching my life being dissected was not easy for me."

The move has proved to be a positive change. Not only did she land a spot on "DWTS," but she said she has found "serenity."

And as far as looking for love again? Canalis said she's learned her lesson.

"You have to accept that Prince Charming who is coming to save you is not going to happen -- it works against you," she said.
