The Netherlands - what's on - Expatica

On Saturday, 10 September, Expatica is organising a Dinner Mixer, where we will wine and dine a group of singles who share a passion for food and wine. No stress, no hurry, just relax and enjoy the evening!

You will be welcomed with a drink. Once everyone has arrived, you will be asked to go to your table to enjoy the entre, after which the gentlemen will move on to share the main course with a new group of single ladies. Following the same pattern, the gents will move again and desert will be served with the last group you have yet to meet.

Over the course of the night, you will meet 15 singles of the opposite sex and on the matching sheet provided, you can note down who you would like to meet again. At the end of the evening, hand in your sheet to the host. If the feeling is mutual, we will send out contact details to both parties ... and you can take it from there!

The menu boasts Greek meat, fish or vegetarian dishes; just tell us your preference and any dietary requirements we should be aware of.

We can only invite 15 gentlemen and 15 ladies to this event, so make sure that you RSVP quickly! Participants of Expatica's dating events are usually between 30 and 45 years old.

Terms and Conditions:
  • Once registered, the ticket fee will not be refunded.
  • Expatica has the right to cancel the event in the case it does not sell enough tickets to cover all event-related costs or in case Expatica cannot deliver a balanced audience. An alternative date will be offered.
  • Expatica cannot guarantee that the balance between women/men is equal. Likewise, Expatica cannot guarantee any matches, nor can Expatica guarantee the accurateness of matches, related names and/or email addresses, or any other matters related to the match making process. The liability clause as outlined at the very bottom of this page applies.
  • The actual matching process may take up to 7 working days. Only participants with a match will receive an email from the event manager (sender: Cosmo Polite) or from an Expatica representative. Participants without a match will not receive email(s) from Expatica or its event organiser. Due to the administrative efforts, correspondence about the match making process is not possible and related emails, letters and/ or faxes will not be processed.
  • Expatica may take photos during the event. The photos taken during an event are copyright of Expatica. Expatica may use the photos, place the photos online, and/ or publish the photos in any Expatica-related or -affiliated publication.
  • The ticket price grants access to the Expatica Dinner Mixer event at Olive 63 on 10 September 2011 and includes a 3-course dinner and 2 drinks.
  • Other costs that may arise during the event, e.g. additional drinks at, are not included in the ticket price.
  • Expatica is not liable for any damage or expense arising out of, or sustained in connection with, the organisation of the event. With the purchase of the ticket, the ticket holder shall indemnify Expatica and hold it, its respective members, employees, directors, officers and agents, harmless from any liability and expense arising out of or sustained in connection with the event.

London, Sep 28 : Hundreds of thousands of people in Britain may have been hit or duped by online romance scams, far more than previous estimates. The study undertaken by Monica Whitty and Tom Buchanan, psychologists at the Universities of Leicester and Westminster, is probably the first formal academic analysis of the pervasive scam.
