Sex Assault & Kidnapping Suspect Arrested - KRDO

FOUNTAIN, Colo. -- Police arrested a man linked to a kidnapping and sex assault case Tuesday.Jason Anthony Smith, 44, was arrested in Fountain and charged with sexual assault, second-degree kidnapping and domestic violence.According to court documents, a woman Smith had been dating since February said that on at least three separate occasions, Smith forced her into sex.The woman, whose name has not been released, said she met Smith online in January and went on their first date shortly thereafter.In the arrest documents, she told police that Smith forced sex on her on their very first date.Despite that, however, she went out with him and again, and continued to see him in what was described as an on-and-off again relationship.In July she started recording her phone conversations with him and turned that information over to an investigator.

London, Sep 28 : Hundreds of thousands of people in Britain may have been hit or duped by online romance scams, far more than previous estimates. The study undertaken by Monica Whitty and Tom Buchanan, psychologists at the Universities of Leicester and Westminster, is probably the first formal academic analysis of the pervasive scam.
