If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. That was Wyatt Fishers philosophy when he created a new Christian dating website, ChristianCrush.com.

Fisher is a Robert E. Lee graduate and licensed psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology. He lives in Colorado.

Many of my clients were talking about online dating, Fisher said. The Christian ones that I found didnt seem very well developed. (Having a Christian dating site) helps people to honor their values.

Fisher combined what he knew from psychology to improve the functions of the site.

"Other Christian sites didnt use a video profile, Fisher said. When youre learning about someone, you draw clues from their verbals and nonverbals.

The site was launched in March and still needs tweaking, Fisher said. So far, 500 people have signed up, and developers are working at getting the site a higher ranking in Google searches. Those things all take time, he said.

Fisher said he has run into some negative responses to the idea of a Christian dating site such as the belief that using a dating site isnt waiting for Gods timing but Fisher disagrees.

I look at it as the same as meeting someone in person, he said.
Ministers in Tyler have the same perspective.

We live in an age of technology, said David Dykes, senior pastor at Green Acres Baptist Church. And if you look at the story of Isaac and Rebekah, he was really proactive about it. I think if its a legitimate site and its genuinely trying to bring Christians together, thats a good thing.
